Boomilever
Welcome to Boomilever! In this event, teams will build a cantilevered beam or truss structure that extends from a vertical Testing Wall and supports a load at a specified height and distance from the Testing Wall. The structure must meet the requirements specified in these rules to achieve the highest score, which is a combination of Structural Efficiency and Load Scored Bonus.
The information below should not be interpreted as an extension of the rules. You can find free online copies of the current rules for download on the 2027 Rules page of the Science Olympiad website. The official rules in the current Rules Manual take precedence. This event is generously supported by the Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation.
