Science Olympiad Foundation

The Science Olympiad Foundation will be formed in 2009 as part of the strategy of the Science Olympiad National Executive Board.  With initial funding from Science Olympiad, and sustained by matching grants from corporations and individuals, the non-profit Science Olympiad Foundation will be devoted to three main goals:

  • Awarding $25,000 research grants for Science Olympiad Alumni currently pursuing master's degrees or PhD courses of study
  • Awarding $10,000 grants to communities to support Science Olympiad Urban Schools Initiatives which fund registrations, professional development and materials for teams and coaches at schools with minority enrollment
  • Awarding $5,000 grants to state Science Olympiad organizations to increase membership and improve professional development opportunities

Grant applications will be vetted by a panel of Honorary Trustees comprised of distinguished Science Olympiad Alumnus and members of the scientific community.

If you are interested in providing funding to the support the formation of the Science Olympiad Foundation or would like to serve as an Honorary Trustee, please contact Jenny Kopach at jrkopach@soinc.org or call (630) 792-1251.
