Science Olympiad Invitational Tournaments allow Science Olympiad teams to participate in "practice" tournaments that do not impact regional or state advancement or rankings. Across the country, many middle and high schools host these events to give teams a chance to perfect their devices, get a feel for the difficulty level of tests and labs, and see a real tournament in action. Sometimes, just being there to observe gives a coach the inside track to better coach a Science Olympiad team. Every little bit of context helps.
Participation in Science Olympiad Invitational Tournaments is optional and in most cases requires a separate event fee. All school teams participating in a Science Olympiad Invitational tournament in ANY location MUST first be a registered member of the state and national Science Olympiad program. Please check your state web site for a complete listing of the dates and locations of all Science Olympiad Invitational Tournaments. A reminder for Invitational planners: There are special Science Olympiad Invitational Medals and Trophies available through Science Olympiad.
